Being close to the team, working behind the scenes of a major event and assist fans from all over the world – the Volunteer Programme of the 23rd IHF 2017 Women’s World Championship in Germany offers a wide range of opportunities. The World Championship will be carried out in the cities of Bietigheim-Bissingen, Trier, Oldenburg, Leipzig, Magdeburg and Hamburg from 1 to 17 December 2017. In any venue, 140 volunteers are needed, which means 840 opportunities in total.
„Being part of the World Championship as a volunteer is the great chance to contribute to the event with all individual skills and strengths,” says Thomas Freyer, project manager of the German Handball Federation DHB for the World Championship, adding: “To work with the organisers, the teams and the fans from all over the world offers a lifetime experience.
Around the event volunteers have the variety of 19 different fields of application like accreditation, team assistance, spectators, media or VIP support, drivers, arena set-up or the medal ceremony on 17 December 2017 in the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg. “Our volunteers shall imprint the picture of the World Championship and fill the motto ‘simply wunderbar’ with life,” says Freyer.
